Springdale’s pickleball community is thriving.

What began as a handful of clinics and organized play opportunities has quickly grown into a welcoming, energetic program bringing together residents, visitors, seasonal workers, and Zion National Park employees — all connected by a shared love of the game and community.

Since launching, Beginner Clinics have welcomed more than 60 participants, helping new players learn the rules, scoring, positioning, and fundamentals needed to feel confident stepping onto the court. Many players have returned for additional sessions as their skills — and enthusiasm — continue to grow.

The Springdale Pickleball Social (SPS) has become a favorite weekly tradition, averaging 20 players each week, with several sessions reaching 24–25 participants. Players of all ages and skill levels gather for organized play, friendly competition, and plenty of laughs. Many participants continue the evening together at local restaurants, where new friendships are forming and the sense of community continues to grow.

A heartfelt thank you goes to the local businesses that have welcomed SPS players, including Onyx Pizza, Scout Bar & Grill, Camp Outpost, and especially Zion Canyon Brewery, whose hospitality and player specials have helped make post-play gatherings something many participants look forward to each week.

The program has now expanded to include Skills & Drills sessions, giving players of all levels an opportunity to improve consistency, strategy, and shot-making in a fun, supportive setting. Look for this to be a regular weekly offering in the future. 

As warmer weather arrives, the Springdale Pickleball Program has moved to summer hours:

• SPS: Mondays, 6:00–8:00 PM
• Beginner Clinics: Tuesdays, 6:00–8:00 PM
• Skills & Drills: Select Fridays, 6:00–8:00 PM
