Pickleball in Jamaica

As a Professional Pickleball Registry Certified Coach, I had the amazing opportunity to coach pickleball February 1-7, 2026 at the Couples Swept Away Resort in Negril, Jamaica. Each day, I coached beginner clinics at 8:00 am, and intermediate clinics at 9:00 am on four courts on this lovely nine acre sports facility.

Intermediate Clinics

Guests from around the world showed up to learn how to play, or to elevate their skills on the court.

Guests also had the chance to sign up for private or semi-private lessons to focus on specific issues with their game, or to get one on one attention.

Rock Stars!

What a week! We had a ball, and everyone kept me So BUSY! I was scheduled to maximum capacity at this incredible facility all week long, with private lessons booked solid each day.

Pickleball

We worked on specific shots; drives, returns, drops to advance to the non-volley zone line (and now we’re dinking!) and strategic dinking moving opponents around the court to create opportunities for attacks.

High Intensity & Focus

We also worked on the participant’s mental game, which is a HUGE part of pickleball. The resort definitely helped everyone get in the Zen mode.

Beach View

Even with the beach and unlimited food, drinks and entertainment calling, participants consistently chose pickleball. They showed up, and they improved tremendously over the course of the week! It was truly a delight to experience the wins with each and every person who participated.

Lots of Pickleballers!

I loved my time in Jamaica! I made many new friends, had a wonderful time coaching pickleball, and felt as though I made a difference in the games and mindsets of many people from around the world. I can’t wait to do it again! I also look forward to seeing all of my new friends in Springdale, Utah, when they come to visit Zion National Park and further elevate their game. Until then…

One Love.

  1. Hello Robyn,

Margaret here from Stratford upon Avon, UK (Eleanor’s mum). We enjoyed your coaching so much in Jamaica and learnt such a lot. I said I would let you know how I got on at the league matches and I’m just back from that session. Although I’m still chasing the elusive first win, my tactics were much more effective. I dinked like my life depended on it! Still need a bit more patience for the right shot to finish off the point, but not panicking when I see my opponents at the NVZ line. I love to practice ‘dinking with purpose’ now!

    1. Hello Margaret!

Thanks so much for the update, I love hearing about your progress! Keep up the great work, continue dinking with purpose, be patient and relaxed at that NVZ line. You’ve got excellent skills- I definitely expect that elusive win very soon.
How is Eleanor getting on? Is she getting some playing time in?
      Cheers from Utah!
